FOR PUPPIES & MAMAS
Dogs are nutritionally omnivores without the metabolic limitations of carnivores, but achieving the proper nutrient balance is not easy on your own. Like magic, Vegepup™ makes it easy! Simply add this vitamin, mineral, and amino acid supplement to high-protein, plant-based, people food, using the Vegepup™ recipes in the recipe brochure that accompany your supplement.
Puppies and pregnant or lactating dogs need roughly 30% protein in the diet and require some nutrient levels to be higher than those for an adult dog. For this reason, the Vegepup™ supplement and recipes should be used for puppies under 12-months of age and pregnant or lactating dogs. Vegepup™ has a higher calcium, phosphorous, and mineral level than Vegedog™ and has threonine added to enhance the amino acid profile of the diet. Vegepup™ is safe for large breed puppies who have a lower calcium maximum allowance, too.
All recipes include food yeast. If you are feeding a vegan diet, we highly recommend using our VegeYeast, a brewer’s yeast modified for acidity that is especially good for your dog’s or puppy’s urinary health. See the recipe brochure for substitutions and additional information.

To find out how many calories to feed your pup per day, ask your vet or use a calorie calculator. Each of our recipes lists the number of calories in the entire recipe. You can divide your prepared meal into cups to determine the calories per cup and amount to feed. Young puppies benefit from multiple feedings per day.
For training treats, flavor our kibble recipe with nut butter (and banana) and use kibble pieces or cut our Sweet Potato Dog Snacks into bite size pieces (available from the Shop page).
